A 275 Gallon Food Grade IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) Tote Container is the ideal solution for a water collection or storage or liquid storage or transfer system. A 275 gallon tote container will store and provide 5 or 6 times the volume of water than a standard 50 gallon rainwater barrel and costs less than one rainwater barrel.
A 275 Gallon IBC Tote ( plastic bottle within a metal cage) measures about 46"H x 40"W x 48"L and weighs about 120 pounds empty and be easily moved around by one person.
Tip: Not all IBC Totes are created equally! Especially the tote main valve thread type. There are three main valve thread types and you will want the main valve thread type to be coarse because the best tote accessories require the coarse thread type and the coarse thread makes the best long lasting secure connections.
All of our totes are in like new condition, high quality, food grade, clearly labeled, contained organic caster oil (corn syrup) or coconut oil, drained and never used again. Good for humans and good for plants. Best option for potable water storage and water collection systems.
All of our totes include the course main valve thread that is strong, reliable, and easily adaptable to all tote fittings. All of our totes are carefully inspected and selected for best quality and condition. You will not find a tote in better like new condition than here. All totes are date stamped, used one time, scrubbed, rinsed and ready for pick up. Our SCHUTZ, GNX, and PYRAMID manufactured containers include a tote cap and coarse threaded main shut off valve.
- $100 each (one new tote, you drain, clean, sanitize, and rinse the tote yourself)

Local delivery available for a fee or you pick up with your truck or trailer.
Tip: Not all tote accessories are created equally! Through trial and error, we only sell or recommend the best quality tote accessories available guaranteed to fit and work. Including camlocks and threaded adapters, sealed or vented lid caps, cap filters, garden hose adapters and overflow fittings, high flow ball valve handle and butterfly faucets and shut-off valves, and UV protective covers.
We have several tote setups onsite where you can see different tote accessories and methods we used to capture roof rainwater or ground pump underground water and transfer the water to our totes that supply water to our gardens.
IBC Tote Containers are useful in many ways:
- As the population grows and electricity and water costs rise, preserving water by collecting and using rain water sounds more like it might be a good idea! Public water and wells use electricity to pump the water throughout your home and property. Without water, our homegrown fruits, vegetables, and other plants cannot survive.
- In many cases, water or electricity is not readily or easily available where water transfer is necessary to provide water to your plants or animals. Rain water can be collected from roof tops or water can be siphened from wells, rivers, creeks, or ponds.
- In other cases, large volume construction type liquid solutions must be transferred or made available at new construction sites such as fuels, sealants and oils or even fresh water.
- RV and camping boondockers, off-road sports event goers, and other creative tote uses are on the rise as well. They are also repurposed for a wide variety of other uses like firewood containers, composting bins, animal shelters like dog houses and chicken coops, and even small greenhouses or garden beds. The list goes as far as your imagination.
How Much Water Falls On Your Roof? (It is More Than You Think)
Basic Conversion: One inch of rain on one square foot yields about 0.623 gallons of water.
Formula: Roof Area (sq ft) x Rainfall (inches) x 0.623 = Gallons Collected ( 500 sq ft x 1 inch x 0.623 = 311.5 gallons ).
Rainwater Harvest Calculator measure rainwater catchment per square foot
Rainwater Collection Calculator estimate rainwater availability by state and city
What you can do with it? Power wash engines, siding, and roofs, irrigate or water crops, gardens and trees, top up wildlife or livestock troughs, wash tools and equipment, recharge swales or mulch basins, wash yourself or clothing, even drink it if absolutely necessary to survive. And, a whole lot more.
